From a dark place…

**I was reminded of this “field note” the other day…in a random/not random way. It’s time to share it.

-I love Your voice, You have led me through the fire;

in darkest night, You are close like no other…

–“Goodness of God”

-Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for You are with me.

–Psalm 23:4

-In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

–John 1:4-5

From my journal-January, 2018:

“When you come from a dark place, the light is even better than it would be. You see it more clearly, it is more intense, it has a special quality that would escape notice had it not come at that time, out of a period of chaos and despair. It makes an indelible stamp on your heart, so even when you find yourself in the darkness once more, that Light is with you–never again will you be alone in that valley.

The Light will always be with you. It always has been. You just couldn’t see it.”

Luke 1: 78-79–“…because of the tender mercy of our God,

by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven

to shine on those living in darkness and in the shadow of death,

to guide our feet into the path of peace.”
